Dream diary evicting squatters edition

Had this strange dream... it's kind of recurring. I keep spending time in the Bangalore House. In one of the previous dreams, the backyard was a post-apocalyptic wasteland with a metro carshed and a lot of junk growing through the grass.

This time around, I was sleeping and watching a movie. I was taking bits and pieces of old crafted things, sticking them together and making new crafted things. Some other people from my WWO clan and my dad were watching a surreal 60s movie on the old telly. I also go and lie down and watch the movie. It's fun.

I then go out for a smoke. There are people walking through the property to a house at the back. IRL the property was split, a house made at the back, but it has its own access. I leave a door in the side open, though there isn't one IRL. A bunch of tourists show up and start photographing the house, and even enter it. I do not bother them then. Another group of religious looking south Indian people also enter the house. Which is when I discard my cigarette, go inside and drive the tourists away. The family is sitting around in the living room and stubbornly refusing to move. I start calling them names like "sand", start beating them, and finally they start running away, with the women giving me bad expressions. There is one old man in a langot who comes from somewhere inside, and looks like he has stolen something, but I don't care and just want him to leave. I wake up while thrashing one big person with surma and a tikka who is refusing to leave.

I had to once evict a woman who was squatting there, taking advantage of my grand aunt's kindness. She had yelled at me, but I just listened to it, being happy that she was going away. A number of people have stolen stuff from the house, leaving it a bare shell by the time we inherited it. My mom is renovating it right now.

Finished watching Man vs Bee.

So I read this review, and had to watch Man vs Bee.

Funny thing is, it was the first suggestion just as I fired up Netflix. The series is over-the-top and crazy. The episodes are really short. The last few seconds of every episode will make you go "oh nooooo".

I really enjoyed the series. Don't wanna compare to Mr Bean or Blackadder, it is a very different, very unique, very lighthearted show.

Apart from the bee itself, was funny to see Atkinson struggling with a smarthome, which I feel could have been fleshed out more. Nothing went wrong in the shower for example. The doors for the kitchen cabinet would only open with an elbow wave, and there was an over the top security system. But there are so many other trials and tribulations with modern technologies... the batteries in the dog collar could have run out for example, it might be difficult to pair the tablet with the smart piano, resulting in a musical piece playing out in the automated lights and blinds for example... there are a million things that could go wrong and didn't, and it's just a missed opportunity in a show like this.

Hopefully there is a season 2.

Still, ez reco.

Why is web3 criticised for the scams?

Any criticism of technology has to be along the lines of technology. For example, cloud technologies can be criticised for inefficiencies or reliability. IoT can be criticised for a lack of standards or inadequate security. When it comes to Web3 though, it is all about boo hoo this idiot lost his money to a scam. I find this very weird.

It's good to talk about the scams. The "dirty impression" that crypto has, has led to the entire DeFi ecosystem being so transparent about every single step that they take. If you are in it to make a quick buck, and you end up losing money, well serve's you right! As the old saying goes, a fool and his gold are soon separated. Web 3 is not some magical realm that exists to squeeze you out of your money. Sure it is volatile and unpredictable, but if you do not have an appetite for that, and do not understand what is going on, by all means stay away!

This was a short reaction to people crying over at Web3 is going just great.

That is a very selective, one sided view of only the bad things happening in an ecosystem.

Disclaimer: This is so sad that it is expected, I have some small amount of ETH, Doge, and some other coins I forget the names. I never ask anyone to invest in crypto, and what I have is strictly for utility, not expecting my "investment" to balloon out of proportion. I am in it for the functionality and the fun, not the potential for financial gain. Also, NFTs are freaking awesome.

After a very long time - About Today

David Arkenstone has released a new album, Songs inspired from Middle Earth II. The great thing about it is that it follows the entire story as the album progresses. It's just sooo cool that a musician I like has made ANOTHER album about a story I like.

Stupid lazy Swiggy guy refused to come up again today, and I could not even hear what he was saying. They come below the building and say stupid things like "Sir aapka order tha". I really have no clue how to react to that, so I say, "Yes, I have an order."

They hesitate to ask me directly to come down, and I have no problem letting the conversation progress. At times, they actually give up and come up lol. I do not want to spend my headspace thinking about the Swiggy delivery partners any more, but they are infuriating.

Earlier today I was reading this piece on the Quint. I kind of got what they were trying to write, but I was thinking, it is so sad that I did not meticulously journal what was going on when I was in the scene. So I'm thinking I will sit down sometime, and pen my experiences and thoughts.

There is also a beautiful new track from Robbie Williams!

Back to Delhi

Was in Mumbai for 12 days. Seems too short. :(

Ate a lot, lost my phone and found it. The location was showing a few metres away from where it actually was which was problematic because I was looking in some field and and garbage dump of a cowshed which was full of hay and cow dung. Then I was going to look in a construction field when I thought of just going and asking the staff at the hotel who had kept it and just returned it to me so that went well this is like the fourth iOS device that I have rescued. For the first time I am typing using the iOS speech to text keyboard and so far it’s been pretty cool stop.

I still don’t know how to go to the next paragraph with the keyboard anyway the other thing that happened is that today I I came back from the airport at this. At the smoking lounge in the Mumbai airport I was just getting out when this oriental gentleman was working in walking in not working and I had the door open for him. She told me to not she Baba he. He told me that there were a lot of people behind so he asked me to come out first which was just a nice random moment with an absolute stranger.

Now I am back in Delhi and it is really hard and the cat is screaming outside. The flight itself was good there was a person who had a flight to catch at 12 o’clock and he got to de-board the plane at or he just got to the plane at 11:45 so I am not sure that he made it. There was this air hostess was really funny who I had to communicate with in charades because the coffee was shaking A lot and it was spilling over into the tree because of the turbulence and I was out the meal pretty late. So I wanted to hold on to the tree a little longer so that the coffee wouldn’t splash all over the place so to show the turbulence I made this moment with both my hands which made her laugh. While everyone was deplaning I just switched my seats so that I could keep an eye on my bag which was in a few bays ahead of my seat which was on the last row. So then she again asked me what I was doing and like which is surprise and expression of surprise and again I pointed at my bag and said I am keeping an eye on it through gestures which made her laugh again.

I was also like a little lost while coming out of my building and heading to my Uber when some random neighbour guy was waving to his relatives in a flat above me and his expression was so full of joy and happiness. I intruded into his personal space while crossing is Rickshaw and I smiled and waved at him too because he was from my building. His face just dropped and he stopped wearing to show that he wasn’t waving to me LOL.

That’s it that’s all I have to report for now I will get back to blogging and a regular routine from tomorrow. This is also the first time I am blogging from my phone. In all these years that as a never happened before.
