A love story

So everyday, on my way to work, see these three messages on three subsequent walls.

Dream Diary that is deep edition

I just had this dream where a massive man eating lion is terrorising the country but everyone is laughing and smiling and totally ignoring it like it isn’t even there. Little kid goes remember the time the lion ate my grandma his mom sushes him and tells him “you can’t talk about that or the lion will come for you too”

At first I thought the lion represents feminism. Seriously. On checking the dream dictionary, think this interpretation applies: "To dream that you are attacked by a lion suggests that a force may be driving you to self-destruction. You need to overcome these challenges and obstacles."

Sesquipedalian Loquaciousness

So Shashi Tharoor tweeted this:

There is actually a term to describe the language used: Sesquipedalian Loquaciousness

The only obtuse word here though is "farrago". The most likely place any one of us has read it before is in Moby Dick, when Ishmael just cannot understand what the landlord of the Spouter Inn means when he says Queequeg has gone out to sell his head. An excerpt from the book:

"I'll break it for him," said I, now flying into a passion again at this unaccountable farrago of the landlord's.

Back to work

After a six year hiatus, I'm back to work. I'm joining as web producer at Tech2. My old editor at Digit is responsible for pulling me out of hibernation. I look like a freaking hippy, and guess I will have to clean up.

March 2016 Urbex

I'm staying with my mom in Nandangadda near Karwar. Occassionally Im going to goa to meet friends who come down from Mumbai, but thing is they tend to come on the same long weekends so Im splitting time between the two groups, going from the beach to the hotel lol. I just hop on to the bus and go.

On the off days, I have no work, so Im spending the time exploring the local areas. I just get down from the bus on any stop I feel that are interesting. Have explored old Portuguese mansions, houses, hotels and other structures that are too dilapidated to make any sense of. Been a good month for urban exploration.

Typically after all the walking around, exploring and photographing, Im tired out, so have been diving into the local bars. The locals are friendly and share stories easily, though they tend to get bombed after a few drinks and just start laughing at any old thing.

One of the times, the bar was empty, so I just grabbed a four pack of Kingfishers (It's only the tourist-y parts of Goa that Kings is popular, everywhere else the staple is Kingfisher strong) and headed to an old Portuguese mansion to soak in the environment. There were some thirsty local residents there, that I felt sorry for, and got water for. But they preferred the beer too lol.

Haha Good Times Indeed!

Dream Diary rekt iPod edition

this is weird because it was the worst, horriblest dream ever, but not a nightmare when it was happening
was sitting on college steps, with friends. Guy from the group behind me leaves his stuff to go to the loo. There is a macbook, seagate hard drive, some HTC Phone, portable charger, his wallet and a bag all scattered around the area he was occupying. I look around, everyone is busy, so I go through his bag without anyone noticing. In it, I find an iPod, and I flick that, intending to trouble him later about it. Then he comes back, I head into the building of the college after a while, and take out the iPod. There is nothing in it, except for a few photos. I figured he didn't know what to do with an iPod and was using it as a camera, so I go to settings, reset the ipod, enter my apple id and password, sync up with my backup on cloud, open up notes (I have no clue if Notes even syncs with cloud IRL and have never tried it), go through a list of good games I wanted to play later but didnt have time or space for and start installing them. When I woke up, I reached for my brand new iPod and was so disappointed when it turned out to be a dream.

Abandoned housing in Goa

So I was just walking along the road when I come across this building. It seemed like the housing complex or a bank or some such company. There was still stuff inside, like people had left in a hurry and not taken everything. The insides were not robbed and stripped, even though they had clearly been sitting for some time. It is rare to find such places, but I had fun exploring and photographing everything.
