The guards take away the wand from Lymle. Alakritos congratulates us for a job well done and clearing the minds of Anabra and Idris. Wist had planted incriminating paperwork and schematics of the Life Dome and incriminating paperwork, having dealings with the consortium, obviously just planted as a ruse. He gives us a pouch of 50 platinum pieces, and hands us the satchel, after removing the papers. Please tell Prolix that he should come back and we should meet.
We end up finding prolix, who is not the stealthiest person in the world. He gives us the Ring of Red Fury for clearing his name, and tells us that it is time to have drinks and kebabs. We have a party at Ankharel, with Prolix dancing on tables. Rangu casts fly on Jazco. We wake up the next day, and we are hungover, and we have all of our hitpoints back.
The next morning during breakfast, one of the guards who "helped" take down Lymle finds us at the Harried Mongoose, and tells us that we need to meet Alakritos as soon as possible. Alakritos is looking quite pensive behind the desk, behind him is another person. We had seen this other person when the Ruidium Elephant had been defeated.
He introduces himself to us as James Crayon, one of the headmasters. He thanks us for nabbing the dangerous spy, and tells us that because of the Krakenwagen, they were able to learn quite a bit after interrogating Lymle. It seems like she was the only one who had infiltrated our ourganisation. Then Crayon warns us of some unknown form of trouble of Cael Marrow. Apparently, there is another spy that has infiltrated the excavation site at Cael Marrow.
Two people are at the excavation, Acurae and someone else. There is also a Kenku and a Goliath, Scribbles and Xot. We are tasked with going to Cael Morrow, meet Accurae and figure out who is the spy. We agree to do it for 7,000 gold pieces. Alakritos spits out his tea.
We are taken to the Maw, which is a massive hole a hundred and fifty metres across, which has a ten foot wide white path descending into the depths. There are many guards patrolling the hole. Alakritos goes to the leading Orc, Asscorn (Hakzorne), who is the Orc Captain. Alakritos hands us six pots of water breathing. James tell us that it is for use in emergency situations only, and that most of the water has been pushed away magically for the excavations to continue.
We descend a spiral staircase along the sides of the massive hole in the ground for hundreds and hundreds of metres. The temperature starts dropping, it becomes colder and colder. When it starts becoming very dark, we start seeing a faint light where the spiral ends, around 500-600 feet beneath the surface. We see windows along the walls as we descend. When we feel the windows though, we feel water on the other side. The windows have a blue tube that is emanating a bluish glow, that keeps the water out.
We can see shapes of what looks like destroyed buildings. We also see some towers or houses illuminated by magical lights, similar to the light seen at the base of the Maw. At the base is a plain, windowless room, with lots of boxes, and plates marked with the emblem of the Allegiance, and a passage that goes through the room westwards, also marked with the symbol of the Allegiance. Leaning against the wall, next to the door, is an Orc, who is just cleaning, minding his own business, does not seem to have noticed us.
He agrees to take us to professor Acrue. We see shimmering blue lights along the walls, just like the ones on the windows. We realise we are in a tunnel of air surrounded by water. The magic is keeping the water away. Very near us, we see kelp floating in the water, and dark shapes in the distance. Some fish come closeby and swim away after being scared by the lights.
When Rangu enters the space, he hears in his head "Your power is not enough and will never be". It sounds like Alyxian, though not like his. At the end of the corridor are two guards, wearing Allegiance outfits like the rest of us. Gorthag walks up to them and says, don't worry guys, they have have clearance. The guards let us pass.
We come to a large space, a three storeyed building connected by a spiral staircase, that almost seems like a library. There is a central area like a foyer, with spiral staircases going up, with three levels having shelves and balconies. The building is used to store all the things that the Allegiance is excavating. We see three people engrossed in their work, a bright red coloured Tiefling with dreadlocks and two very impressive horns that spiral up, a large goliath and a small Kenku.
Gorthag tells us "Professor, we have some visitors for you." This Tiefling comes up to us and tells us, "Hello I wasn't expecting you, but who are you?" We tell them that we are here to help. The Tiefling tells us about a missing professor, Professor GallileoKira (Galeokaerda) who has an automaton with her. Woolf looks at the artefacts, with some being from Cael Marrow.
Jazco understands where Orcs were born from in a book, and discovers books in Archaic Orc, written in an elvish sort of a fashion. Jigao in Rohas is known for its like its literature.
Woolf finds a ring in the mud beneath a broken amphora, and a sludgy-muddy potion. A potion of superior healing, and the Ring of the Ram. None of them notice Woolf surreptitiously put the items into the bag.
