You cannot retcon how characters dealt with machines. When Han talks to the Falcon, its an almost mystical dialogue between human and machine. That is how it was meant to be interpreted, not as some revolutionary robot named after 90s hacker slang, L3-37, who was an ex-lover Lando, and has been integrated with the ship... Han is not talking to L3-37, he is talking to the Falcon, not some ghost in the electronics of the ship, hoping it gets him, something similar to the force that he is so skeptical about.
