Excersising in a Mumbai Local

Travelling by the seven twelve fast today made me realise the potential for body building in the Mumbai Local. I am not saying to use the hangers for the purpse of pullups or the railings on the seats to use as pushups (the latter idea has its merits), but simply positioning the body in such a way that the areas you want to excersise are under stress.

General note: For maximum efficiency, it is recommended that you excersise between eight and ten am in trains moving towards CST and between eight and ten pm in trains moving away from CST.

Back and Stomach:
1) Stand against the railing next to the seats and wait. The crowd will push you backwards and it will require considerable efforts for you to remain straight. Leaning towards it will excersise your tummy and leaning away will excersise your back. For extra strain, carry a bag
2) Wait for everyone else to climb on, and then climb in after them, with only your toes in the train. Hang on for your dear life with your fingertips, and push in the people in front of you with repeated pelvic thrusts. Try not to get aroused.

Hands: Hang out with the crowd pushing you otwards. Better still, hang out right in the middle, and refuse to get down.

Arms: Stand in the middle of two rows of seats, next to the baggage rack. You will be requested to manage the placement of the baggage of many passengers.

Neck: Try to get some air from the fan while standing in the middle of the compartment.

Full body workout:
Get into a crowded train, and work your way accross to the other side before the next station. Repeat for as long as necessary.
