Kangaroos in the Indian culture?

So there was this exhibition meant for industrial and artistic products by adivasis and tribals, to preserve the local culture, and guess what, came across this kangaroo wood toy/showpiece...



I thought the Indians emigrated to Australia instead of the other way round.
