The beach - II

Kelve beach is lined with these palm trees, which are REALLY tall. One half of the beach has palm trees, and the other has some really tall what I think are fir trees. Seems like you are in some tropical island.

The beach - I

The clump of trees off center is an independent island I tried to reach on foot. You need a boat to do it as there are two islands between Kelve beach and that island. The network coverage here is pretty good, shows up as 'kelve bazaar' Notice the ripple in the sand? On closer inspection there is the metal floor on indian public transport pattern.

Eldest

Had met up a friend in JJ school of arts today. There is this bookseller outside who sells any book for fifty bucks. Purchased Eldest and God of small things from hi, but ended up paying a hundred and fifty, because Eldest was apparently a 'special book' which costed a hundred and fifty, but I beat him down with help from the friend.

Reading Eldest got to the surface something weird that has been lurking around for some time now. I read Moorcock and somehow associated Solembum, the werecat as a char from HIS universe. I thought Eragon was a part of the Eternal Champion series. Maybe Paolini's writing style is inspired by more than Harry Potter alone. And I have already given my views about the similiartiy between Moorcock and Potter.

Another interseting thing would be, all the allusions to elves and dragons all originate from this one master story, something of the inner legends in the Masons, stories that these authors have access to. Because Moorcock definately makes a clear allusion to a reptile race in many of his books. Maybe all fantasy is based on conspiracy theories.

Or are theories based on fantasy?

No clue what is happening in the real/"real" world.

Sheerapoha

Series of amazing events. One night band (I was almost in it, but backed out because I couldn't play an instrument, which I gather is NOT in fact, a very good reason) performed its debut gig with what I gather was a hateful reaction from a bad crowd which sent established bands like old monk off stage. They performed the song I half-wrote, composed by Chirag (the lead) and titled the palli effect. Misinterpreted rather purposefully by the crowd as the talli effect and the lund effect.
Found all this out while boating with two friends. The guy wrote "Chirag" as "Shirag", asked if his name was Sheera, then who was 'Poha'? I was promptly rechristained 'poha' and the third friend, Mihir became the rava.

Whatever that was about.

Figue it out.

This is an unaltered image of me sitting in the bus and photographing my shadow. The unusual thing about the photo is that although all the windows of the bus are open, and it is broad daylight with more light spilling in than out, it is impossible for one window to be lit. How was this pic then taken?

One night @ the call center

First of all you are put off by the fact that the events do not occur over one night at all, and there are too many assumptions, but the story is close to the author’s heart, which matters a lot. That is why this is a better book than five point someone, though it is unfortunately not as dark, although there are lines like “he is better at being a mass suck up than a gangbang pornstar.”
That and to make up for all the anti-America sentiments, the book is one big advertisement for Microsoft. MSword is mentioned directly, and an easter egg also shows up as a “bug” but this canvassing for Microsoft goes deeper for some reason. For example, take this line: “Life goes on – move on to better things. It is like playstation to X-box.”
Bhagat has this habit of going just a little too far and ruining everything. The booik was spoilt because of a cheap stunt the protagonist(s) play… they blackmail their bastard of a boss. The whole phone call from God was actually well done, something I could identify with, and honestly speaking, the direction that I would have gone in too. Not overdone, and a nice explanation at the end.
The best part about the book was that in the opening lines, I TOTALLY identified with the author when he said he looked at the name list outside trains to check out who his co-passengers were. So I am not the only person who does that.

Different academic background

Pretty shocking if you come from an academic background that is considerably different from the one you thought you came from.

I was searching this hall ticket of mine, and came across old documents. Old documents in the form of report cards of all my school years. Guess what, I was rotten at academics. Have hardly come first or in fact in the first five in any of the subjects. Might be above average, but lacked excellence. Somehow this bothers me because I was living my life under the impression that I was a good student at school. Things like this freak you out. Damn.
