Time is relative

So there is this pscyho lecture going on which i didn't pay much attention to except for this part where the teacher talks about inner peace, and attaining a state where the mind is thinking of nothing. This happens, according to her when you suddenly realise the amount of time that has passed. Is inner peace merely being absent minded? Without making fun of any theory, the teacher and some students also noticed that the opposite is also true - like a short lecture which feels like it has been oing on for hours.
The teacher at this point gave the classic gil on lap - hot iron on lap example, to prove that time is relative.

A grossly misunderstood statement by Einstein. In simple terms, relativity is that the ONLY think constant in this cosmos is the speed of light - and that everything else is relative.
