Call of the Netherdeep Volume 12

Prolix asks us to go to the Casino, but most of us do not want to go. Rangu however, wants to go in, and starts walking towards the Casino. Yazhi sneaks away as the sights and sounds of the Casino. There are a number of games in the Casino, including Favour of Avandra, Gambit of Ord and Quon a Drensel. The officiators are wearing uniforms of dark grey and gold. Quon a Drensel is a lizard racing game. Prolix takes out 10 gp and gambles on a lizard. Prolix throws his cap on the floor after losing. "I hate this place, this is nothing but a pit of snakes". We win 20 gold from the lizard race. We bet on lizard 3 and win. Rara and Woolf go over to play Avandra's Favour. We luck out win 75 gold at that game. We head over to where people are playing Gambit of Ord, the table has a number of well dressed people, smoking and drinking. These people sneer at us. Rara goes all in with the first buy in.

Rara goes around trying to irritate the patrons, by taking out the onion. The guy says "You have lost your money, you go away you ugly smelly thing." Prolix takes us to him. We see domestic scenes of people washing, cooking and talking. There are kids running on the sides, uncles are leering at women and are huddled together. Prolix navigates this maze of buildings, jumping over some roofs. The houses are all tightly packed together. Prolix has a large, barebones house. Prolix serves us a hearty meal. We thank him for his hospitality. Prolix then brings out an amphora of wine, and says "May Ankharel be good to you".

Prolix has done quite a bit of travelling, and he regales us with his tales. He has been a member of the Allegiance for a long time, and he really loves Ankharel, but does not like the heat a lot. He thinks that the character, personality and history of the city makes up for it. Prolix gets drunk on the cheap wine, excuses himself, and promptly passes out on his barebones bead, pointing towards a mat on the other side of the room, and then begins to snore. Woolf peeks into his desk, and finds some very official looking letters, giving him orders for missions, along with the money he will get for his travels and the food allowances. It is all very boring. There are a bunch of pots with dead plants.

All of us fall asleep. Rangu wakes up early in the morning.
