How to make a lightsaber in five minutes

Ok, this can really be done. This is how I actually made a lightsaber in five minutes, a very usable one, a one like it comes out in the movies...

First, you start with a metal bar (I used a curtain rod) about as long as you want the saber to be, and two pieces of cloth. Any cloth. Each cloth should be about one square meter...

Just wait. Things get worse. You pretty much guessed what to do...

roll the cloth around the rod

then tape it so that it is tight. Tape the top too, or the rod will come out.. something like having a hand without any bones... this happened to me while I was playing around, and I am going to put the fx on top of that and make a funny video out of it.

after that comes the base. Same thing, fold the cloth over, and roll it up and tape it...

That's it. you have your lightsaber

skeptical? Wait till you add the FX on photoshop...

Worried about the handle?

Use it in a video...

and Then add the fx and see...

viola! just like in the movies...
